Ce serait une autre option, car Termium traduit "opto-isolator" par "opto-isolateur" (Source: Paris : Conseil international de la langue française. "Cahiers de terminologie scientifique et technique.", dernière mise à jour en 2008-08). De son côté, la CEI, qui devrait être la référence ultime en électrotechnique, ne mentionne pas "opto-isolator" mais plutôt "photo-coupler" qui correspond bien au "photo-coupleur" d'Arnold. Les deux dispositifs font essentiellement le même travail.
