English term or phrase: driver open

"How: Physical (Using a Bally Scope, Visual Inspection of Areas, Driver Opens)"

"Let driver open, always maintain contact with the driver visually, remain alert with a “safe area” around you."

le conducteur ouvre (le coffre/la porte)
Explanation:
just means thedriver opens his/her (own) door - the police get well tetchy about body space etc., i;e. you know it's bad when they say 'would you step oyut of the car please'..; anyway, it's literal - Vigipirate means the very tight rules on searching cars have been extending to the regular police (was previously customs i believe who could do that)

legally, the situation is very different if it\'s the driver or the \'busies\' who open the vehicle (evidence, fingerprints etc. I guess)
