Aus einer Vereinbarung bezüglich Geräteanmietung:

Insurance Obligation Waiver’ (IOW) provides cover for equipment repair or replacement costs resulting from such risks, and is subject to a £1,000 excess for each and every incident.
Cable, cable storage, ducting and hoses supplied as part of this rental agreement are excluded from IOW cover.

Bin kein Versicherungsexperte und frage mich, wie das mit der mir bekannten Übersetzung "Verzichtserklärung" in Einklang zu bringen ist.

Siehe unter XIV Abs. 3. Hier wird die Zusatzversicherung einfach als "Kaskoversicherung" bezeichnet. CDW ´wird ja allgemein auch mit Vollkaskoversicherung übersetzt.

Beim Begriff Collision Damage Waiver verzichtet der Vermieter (des Kfz) auf den finanziellen Ersatz des Schadens am Kfz. Analaog gilt wohl bei IOW, dass hier der VErmieter der Geräte/Anlagen den Anmieter von der Pflicht zum Ersatz befreit. Eben das Gleiche, nur anders formuliert, und eben wohl keine Vollkasko, bei der der Mieter gar nichts berappen muss, sondern eine Kasko gegen Selbstbeteiligung.
