An untrained instance of ChatterBot starts off with no knowledge of how to communicate. Each time a user enters a statement, the library saves the text that they entered and the text that the statement was in response to. The basic idea states that chatterbots render computers more human-like, engaging and motivating. Users do not need to click, drag and drop or open menu. They can directly communicate applying their natural skills. Hence, social agents are expected to support many cognitive functions of the user, such as problem solving, learning and understanding.
