intussusception

GBK English to Macedonian Medical Medical (general)
Definition from MedicineNet, Inc.:
Telescoping (prolapse) of a portion of the intestine within another immediately adjacent portion of intestine. With prompt treatment, most children recover completely from intussusception. Occasionally, complications such as infection can occur if the intussusception is not treated quickly. (American Academy of Family Physicians )
Intussusception is the most common cause of intestinal obstruction in children between ages three months and six years. (University of Virginia)
