I'm making my side norwithen but I just have the long word "nedlastinger" to put instead of Downloads, I hoped to find something shorter

I suggest you just state whatever it is you have to offer - that the site visitors have to download sort of goes without saying, doesn't it?: Programs/applications="Programmer", pictures="Bilder", music="Musikk", etc.

If you'd like to specify the download part, write for instance "Laste ned <...> musikk <...> bilder" etc. etc.; or "Klikk her for å laste ned <...>"

NB! "Nedlastinger" is not good - it sounds like a forced translation from English.

Nedlastbare filer

This is the standard translation of the term in IT translation. It's obviously not a shorter term, but it's the correct term.

The term "nedlastinger" would only refer to something that already has been downloaded, whereas "nedlastbare filer" refers to files that can be downloaded, e.g. links you can click on in order to transfer the files to your own computer.
