X's stainless steel brake cable is sold for use exclusively with road-racing bicycles. X double end brake cable is designed with a road-racing bicycle nipple at one end, and a mountain bicycle nipple at the other, so that it can be used on either a road-racing bicycle or a mountain bicycle (the user must cut off the nipple that is not required). This issue only affects the nipple designed for use on a road-racing bicycle.

X believes there is a possibility that the tensile strength of the join between the cable and the cable-end nipple in some of these cables may not meet X's quality and safety standards.
