incentivo/incentivar Explanation: "To motivate" could be translated both as "motivar" and "incentivar." Because it seems to be a pretty new word, I do not believe there is such corresponding term in Portuguese. I'd stick to the brief answer both for semantic and phonetic reasons. It is also a word more related to the field in question: "Incentivo fiscal," for instance. |

incentivar Explanation: "incentivar" seems to be an appropriate translation. It is a synonym of "motivar" too, but there is the advantage that "incentivo" can be a concrete prize the employer can give to his employees, while "motivação" is rather more abstract. |
