life

"jaan", means life.
so, when a person refers to his / her beloved or lover or partner or spouse, it is with intense love.
so, "Jaanu ", would mean as important & precious as one's own Life.

There is also another Context within which it is used. This may be used as a Slang word in a Lewd or Obscene manner, when used by the Villains or the bad guys in Indian, notably Hindi Cinema.
And taking the cue from These hindi Movies the Roadside Romeos also use this term Quite Frequently.

agree Shruti Nagar : explaination is correct but the meaning would be more close to "my love"
