doesn't appear to be a translation question, but....
Fact 1) Sushi
Fact 2) Tempura, a kind of light batter frying of food
Fact 3) Soba, a type of buckwheat noodle
Fact 4) Udon, a large noodle that's kind of like ramen
These 4 are born and bred Japanese cooking, but there are also many regional specialties [like Kobe beef and Okinawan blends of Chinese/Japanese styles] and imported foods.
Misbelief 1) Sushi is raw fish
Even 7-11 sushi plates will include at least one portion of fried egg, maybe one of roe, and a boiled shrimp one.
Misbelief 2) Ramen is not Japanese
Since it came from China, it's not considered Japanese though Japanese eat a lot of it (the same goes for gyoza and shumai, 2 types of Chinese dumplings as they are all written in Katakana).
