THe chosen answer is completely correct though I just wanted to add a right one-word term - Requiem.
As for the wake it has nothing to do with the word "panikhida". In Russian it means either "bdenie" or "pominki", both have little in common with the service of "panikhida"

: Having originally suggested 'wake', I stand fully corrected; 'requiem' is the best translation for 'panikhida'. 'Trizna' is the best equivalent of 'wake'; 'pominki' is still acceptable, but less exact of a match.
