I thought this maybe meant an earlier age of menarche (start of menstruation) but the indigenous populations in this study had a later menarche than the controls. The other option is shorter puberty, which they have but she is saying it in a way different from the rest of the paper. The author is unfortunately on vacation which is why I'm asking here.

Here is the sentence:


Существуют этнически детерминированные отличия, проявляющиеся укорочением менструального возраста у коренных жительниц РС (Я), что также является свидетельством неблагоприятной медико-географической обстановки в РС (Я).

I have used a wrong term. It has to be "between menarche and menopause"
