Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Energy / Power Generation

hi, suggestions please, should i use "electrical terminals", or can i use "electrical sockets", i.e. are terminals always sockets? if so these two words would be interchangeable right?....the text is from an installation manual for electrical equipment and i prefer to use "sockets" whole phrase: evite tocar terminales eléctricos, which would obviously be (in better english) don't put your fingers in the sockets......need and engineer, thanks everyone....
