Who Am I in Business?
My career started with being a foreign language correspondent for Business English and Business Russian. This professional training was followed by studies at university level. I studied Technical Translation at the University of Hildesheim (Northern Germany). For several years I worked as a translator and project manager in the language industry.
Now I am also a ECQA certified Terminology Manager for the Advanced level.
Who Am I in Person?
I am passionate about learning foreign languages and getting to know different cultures and enjoy spending time reading English and Spanish books as well as newspapers, watching French movies and unravelling Italian song texts (singing Italian songs is also a great favorite of mine :-). I am also a TED translator.
Why Am I Not Showing My Rates?
As a professional technical translator I know that the quality of a translation depends on the quality of the source text. The complexity of the document to be translated is a determining factor for my moderate pricing structure.
Which tools do I use for my translation projects? SDL Trados Studio, SDL Passolo, memoQ, Across, STAR Transit NXT, Idiom, and Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps.
