I am an English native, teaching English in the French state education system. I graduated in history and archaeology and by traveling extensively I have added French and Spanish to my skills. In order to teach English in France I have had to pass many translation tests. I try to be as stylish as possible in my translations and to render the writers intentions as accurately as possible in the target language. With this in mind, I enjoy literary translation but can turn my hand to most other types of translation work.
I have been translating as part of post-university level public competitions such as the CAPES in France for about three years now - mostly historical, literary and journalistic translation. Anything from Alan Whicker rendered into French to Paul Nizan rendered in English. |
