A good translation is not just replacements of words, it is a transformation from one world to another. The feel and appeal of the text need to be carried over from one language to the other. Translated Nobel Laureate Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore's poems and songs into English. These constituted a major part of a very successful public performance, "Tagore Evening" in May, 2005 in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, UK.

Translated and edited a compilation of Bengali translations of short sci fi stories entitled,"Rocketman o anyanya galpa". This was published in 1988 in Calcutta, India.

Translated Richard E Byard's account of his solo stay of six months in the South Pole to Bengali. This was published serially in a Bengali magazine "Kheyal Khushi" in Calcutta way back in late 1970's.
