My name is Anabella Tidona, and I am a professional Spanish interpreter based in Los Angeles, California, proudly serving clients locally and worldwide for in-person and virtual events. I am a Federally Certified and California Court Certified Interpreter with more than 15 years of experience dedicated exclusively to interpreting.
Born and raised in Argentina, I earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires and studied English-Spanish Conference Interpreting. Early in my career, I worked with international businesses across industries like telecommunications, import-export, and professional sports.
After moving to the United States, I developed a strong foundation interpreting in legal, medical, and court settings. In 2014, I earned a Master’s Degree in Medical Translation from Universitat Jaume I in Spain.
Since then, my work has expanded to include high-profile and live interpreting assignments where accuracy and trust are critical. I’ve interpreted for two FIFA World Cups—Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022—providing live, post-match interpretation for FOX Sports, including moments like Lionel Messi’s reactions after the final.
In addition to my interpreting work, I am committed to helping the next generation of interpreters succeed. I co-designed an advanced interpreter training course focused on preparing candidates for the Federal Court Interpreter Certification oral exam. The course is offered through the Medical Interpreting Training School (MITS).
I’ve also worked with Netflix Headquarters, after passing a competitive selection process, and interpreted for actors and directors at major film festivals, including post-screening Q&As for Latin American Oscar submissions. My work has taken me to ten countries across Latin America, providing professional Spanish interpretation services for heads of state, political candidates, global leaders, and everyday people.
My experience spans the full spectrum of interpreting. I’ve interpreted live on television, in international conferences, in courtrooms, and in correctional facilities, where I’ve helped ensure clear and accurate communication for inmates navigating the legal system.
In addition to interpreting, I’ve expanded my skills as a bilingual voice-over actress for a global fitness brand’s streaming workout platform and as a dialect coach for a television series, helping actors deliver authentic Spanish performances.
Today, I interpret regularly at conferences, congresses, industry events, and press conferences, maintaining a balanced mix of in-person assignments across Los Angeles and other U.S. cities, and remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) for clients around the world.
As a Consultant Interpreter, I also coordinate teams of trusted professional interpreters in multiple languages and assist clients with equipment rentals, including interpreter booths, wireless systems, and hybrid event technology.
As part of my commitment to the highest professional standards, I am an active member of the Association of Independent Judicial Interpreters of California (AIJIC) and the American Alliance of Professional Translators and Interpreters (AAPTI). These organizations promote excellence, ethics, and ongoing education in the field of interpreting and translation.
