I Used to be an English language teacher in my small hometown in Dellys, where
I enjoyed a lot teaching my favorite language. but I resigned because I felt
tired struggling against the Saudi Arabian Islamic extremist trend, that was
emerging among young children from 1995 to 2005.
I have chosen to go to the south, in the Algerian desert where I worked for
different oil and gas companies as English/French Translator and interpreter. I
met fabulous people, from Norway, England, Scotland, United states, Thailand,
Philippine. I got involved with technical translations, including welding,
maintenance mechanical and engineering procedures, HSE and management policies.
I went on site with engineers and visited the huge petroleum facilities. My
role was also typing and translation of correspondences, reports and other
documents, take minutes at meetings, translation of all kind of data from
French to English or from Arabic to French and English and vice versa within
the framework of company projects such as: hydraulic projects, installation of pipelines
system, industrial maintenance, prefabs, erection, and civil works.
I recently joined Transperfect as freelance translator where I started working
on some projects, my main duties are: Subtitling and Post-Editing. So far, I
subtitled ‘’I kissed a vampire’’ ''Food Trucks fanatics''and post-edited 13 episodes of Bob the
