Translation - English When people find themselves in life-threatening situations without food and water, what causes them to perish are first and foremost fear and a lack of awareness of their body’s capabilities. Through our experiment, we hope to educate people as to the proper course of action in such circumstances. History knows many instances when people who had been caught in shipwrecks, terrorist attacks, underground cave-ins, or hostage taking simply succumbed to death, or worse, resorted to cannibalism out of despair and frailty of spirit. Not only does the body die in these cases, but the soul along with it. Our experiment is a path to the self – a path to God. Only faith and knowledge can provide hope of deliverance.

Source text - Russian
Translation - English Revival in Newly Independent Ukraine
During the first few years of Ukraine’s independence in the early 1990s, a decline in Ukraine’s cartographic output took place due to a dramatic decrease in government funding. The volume of map updates and topography surveys decreased, and, as a result, aerial surveys were practically discontinued and the industry fell into decline. During this period, former specialists of the Kyiv UAD aerial survey squadron resumed their professional activities in the newly created Aerogeoinformatika company. Essentially the successor to Ukraine’s aerial surveying industry, Aerogeoinformatika inherited the key experience and professional skills of its employees, who managed not only to preserve and continue the traditions of the aerial survey squadron, but also to organize a highly efficiency system of mechanisms for gathering and processing aerial data and satellite remote sensing data. In the new century, Aerogeoinformatika extended its geography of operations: in 2001 it began working in Turkmenistan (Central Asia), and in 2002 – in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Experience
Years of experience: 29. Registered at ProZ.com: Feb 2010.
I am a U.S.-Georgian citizen residing permanently in the Black Sea region (mostly Georgia). I speak native English and functionally native Russian, advanced Ukrainian, and 7 other languages at lower levels of proficiency, particularly Georgian, Turkish, Spanish, and German.
I work as an English-Russian and occasionally English-Ukrainian simultaneous interpreter at international conferences, workshops, webinars, and business meetings. I write extensively in both English and Russian and also manage the Tbilisi Language Exchange Club, where people gather on different evenings of the week to socialize in different languages.
I also occasionally take on translation work (Rus-Eng, Ukr-Eng, and Eng-Rus) when I have the time and interest. I have semi-professional audio equipment and can do voice over work and subtitle translation.
Interpreting has been my main professional activity since 2014. I had sporadic experience interpreting going as far back as 1997. Over the years I have also built websites, written hundreds of articles and posts in English and Russian on subjects of personal interest, taught English and Russian, and worked extensively as a translator before I made interpreting my main focus.
My goal for the next few years is to add Georgian, Turkish, Spanish, and possibly German as secondary working languages—to be able to interpret from them into my primary languages, which are English, Russian, and Ukrainian. Of course, mental resources are limited, and it's impossible to reach and maintain one's desired level of proficiency in many languages all at the same time. One can dream :-)
I balance my work activities with wilderness backpacking, music, travel, and other hobbies. I've hiked from the Mexican border to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail, a journey of 4300 kilometers through the mountains of the West Coast of the US. I continue to pursue this passion of mine and involve others in experiencing nature close-up. I'm in charge of the "Hikers of Georgia" group in Tbilisi, Georgia, and organize hiking and camping trips several times a month.
