Acting is a complex and elusive art to define. yet almost everyone can tell good acting from bad acting - or good acting from brilliant acting. Why can one actor be riveting in a play and another actor be dull and boring in the very same play, doing the same character, the same lines? If it were just the script, the beauty of its language, the artful turn of a phrase, we would only need readings. But the words are not just read with sterility from the page. They are performed and brought to life by actors. | Translation - Italian
La recitazione è un'arte complessa e sfuggente da definire. Eppure quasi tutti si accorgono quando la recitazione e' buona o pessima oppure quando e' buona o brillante.
Come mai un attore può essere avvincente in una rappresentazione ed un altro scialbo e noioso, se entrambi interpretano lo stesso personaggio ed usano le stesse battute? Se il tutto si limitasse alla sceneggiatura, alla bellezza del suo linguaggio, all' abile svolta di una frase, a quel punto ci basterebbero solo delle letture. In realta' le parole non vengono meramente prese dalla pagina e lette aridamente. Le parole sono recitate e prendono vita attraverso gli attori. |
