Source text - English Today was amazing. I woke to the sound of the most incredible song I’ve ever heard. Oropendolas, said the gardener when I came out of my room. And then the day got even better: As soon as I entered the Hotel’s restaurant built right next to the river I was impacted by the openness of the space, and felt that serenity that fills you when you are around water. The air was full of the murmur of water and bird song. I love the rhythm of that name: Oropendola.
Since I was up early, I truly enjoyed a leisurely and very delicious breakfast. Oh, yes, I am staying at the Selva Verde Lodge, in a place called Chilamate de Sarapiqui. Many reasons: The Lodge sits on a 500 acre nature reserve, so the area is teeming with Flora and Fauna. I’ve always wanted to do river rafting, but I am a coward. A friend told me that here I could get the experience of the rapids, within my own limitations. This portion of the Sarapiqui River is classified as a 1.5 grade, for total beginners. Wish you were here. It was a blast! I saw monkeys, hummingbirds, hundreds of Oropendola elongated nests hanging over the river and fell in love: with a Toucan. You must see it!
The region is gorgeous and so is the Selva Verde Lodge, sitting in middle of incredible botanical gardens.
Translation - Spanish Hoy fue asombroso.

I feel résumés are a good way of listing positions held in the past, along with a short description of duties and responsibilities. However, to better express who you are and to describe some of the experiences that have shaped you, I prefer a short note. So, in this cover-letter, I share with you some events not mentioned in my résumé.
Without this letter, how would you know that I am tenacious, that I truly enjoy language, that I have a great curiosity about the Net and technology; or that I never really know if English is my source language and Spanish my target language, or the other way around?
From a very early age I realized my mother and her sisters depended on me to double-check if they had truly understood what someone had explained to them in Spanish. The poor Irish-Scottish darlings felt lost in Latin America.
I became a Television reporter at a very young age (17) and my first experience as an interpreter was an interview with famous heart surgeon Christiaan Barnard. I had to translate his answers for the Spanish speaking viewers.
I have over 40 years of experience interpreting and translating English-Spanish-English.
During these years I have also done radio ads, narrated documentaries and podcasts in English and Spanish, so if you need a translation and then a voice-over, I will be happy to work along with you.
An early model Coleco Adams 64 KB Computer found its way to our home in Denver in 1984 –via my youngest son-- and I became computer literate early on.
I like working from home, concentrating on the job at hand, but also walking in the garden listening to the birds singing in this lush setting; or do some of my best work as the rain trickles down the windowpanes and the sun doesn’t shine. And, even when it is dreary outside, if I have been able to reach my deadline with time to spare and double check my work, then it is a sunshiny day!
