I majored in Secondary Education English at Penn State University. I have been working in the Japanese Education system at a Japanese junior and senior high school in Japan for 18 years.

I was raised on an air force base in Japan from 6th grade until high school graduation. There I fell in love with manga and first learned to read and speak Japanese through reading manga and warching anime. I went to the States and got a teaching degree and returned to Japan on the JET Programme.
After my contract ended, I was asked by the school that I was teaching at to stay on. In order to be certified to teach at a Japaneses junior and senior high school, I went to Chikugo University to to fulfill the requiements needed to get an instructor's liscense. (Lectures in Japanese)
I have worked with professors at universities on medical and scientificul translations, but I would rather work on translating literature.
