Bio
I've spent eight years working as a business journalist and translator in Latin America. In addition to writing on micro and macro topics for The Economist Intelligence Unit and Knowledge@Wharton, I worked for English language weekly The Tico Times and online business news portal Business News Americas. I currently do freelance translation work for Business News Americas and the Center for Reproductive Rights. I have extensive experience translating for the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, its Office of the Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression, and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Most of the work I have done for them involves relatively large projects (10k to 40k words) requiring quick turnaround. Additionally, in 2012 I completed the translation of Dr. Ceclia Medina's seminal work La Convención Americana: teoría y jurisprudencia, for Intersentia publishing house. I use MemoQ CAT software and Dragon Naturally Speaking productivity software. In 2011, I completed New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies' Translation Certificate in Spanish-to-English translation, which included six courses on business, financial and legal translation over a 2-year period. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Latin American literature at the Universidad Alberto Hurtado. I am always open to new opportunities and clients, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions about my profile.
