During my 14 years working as a trilingual translator I have covered various domains that can be divided into three broad categories: humanities, science and technology and literature.
The first category, humanities, comprehends language and linguistics, literary theory, psychology, political science and history.
The second category includes subjects as varied as civil engineering, electricity and electronics, computer technology, medical sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, military science, physics and mathematics, space technology, military science, naval engineering, and industrial design.
Literature comprehends fictional prose, essays and some poetry.
This is a short list of the works I have produced that have given a satisfying sense of acomplishment:
Trilingual literary newsletters and bilingual publications for grassroots organizations in Montreal (Quebec) from 1995 to 2002.
Collected works of poetry and short stories for Montreal-based published authors (mostly translated from English to French).
Thesis and academic works covering fields like philosophy, languages and linguistics, political science and biology (translated from English to French, and from English and French into Spanish. |
