I have, when studying the Master's program for Technical Translators at Lund University, come into contact with several different subject areas, such as medicine, economy/marketing, computers/manuals and popular science. I have also translated newspaper articles, documents from the European Union, a purchase order (terms and conditions) and fictional texts.
During my final term in the Masters program for Technical Translators I worked on translating parts of an equestrian handbook, as I have several yeras' experience of horses and equestrian sports. I have worked part time as a riding instructor for several years, and I am very interested in animals and veterinary medicine.
I have studied the Master's program for Technical Translators at Lund University, and I have an M.A. in English. I do not only do translations (EN>SWE, DK>SWE,NOR>SWE), but I also do editing and proofreading.
My rate is around $ 0.12- $ 0.25 per word depending on what type of text it is. If the text contains many repetitions, or if other similar translations are provided, the price will be lower than if the text is more complicated.
For editing and proofreading, and for bigger projects I charge by the hour, and the rate is then around $ 31.76/hour. |
