The output of the shaft generator system can be found in the certificates (factory acceptance tests) of the shaft generator, frequency converter, etc., whilst the efficiency factor (usually a value between 0.8 and 0.9) can be found in the manufacturer’s data sheets. As an alternative, for the efficiency factor, a fixed value (e.g., 0.9) can be agreed.

Source text - English Because of the operational considerations, OSVs, salvage vessels and tugs always dock to offshore facilities and other ships. If the bridge wings of these ships extend to be of the same breadth of the maximum beam of them, collisions between these ships and offshore facilities or/and other ships will easily happen due to the effects of winds, waves and currents. According to China’s investigation, such accidents have already happened at sea. Annex 2 is a report on the case where an OSV had a collision accident by its bridge wing with a pipe laying ship during operations.
Translation - French Pour des raisons liées à l’exploitation, les navires ravitailleurs au large, les navires de sauvetage et les remorqueurs sont toujours accostés à des installations au large ou à couple d’autres navires. Si les ailerons de la passerelle de ces navires s’étendent sur une largeur égale à la largeur maximale des navires, les abordages avec des installations au large et/ou d’autres navires peuvent survenir plus facilement, sous l’action du vent, de la houle et des courants. Source text - English A related concern is that while the ODME may operate effectively with an oily bilge water mixture alone, it may not effectively monitor some bilge water mixtures generated in the machinery space and therefore once such mixtures are transferred to the cargo slop tank and mixed with cargo residues, the requirements of regulation 34 cannot be met, so the only option available for disposal is to a reception facility. This aspect would be of particular concern where the contents of the oily bilge water holding tank included, for example, economizer wash water contaminated with a large quantity of soot, or bilge water containing a large quantity of emulsions, detergents, or degreasers would also cause a malfunction of the regulation 14 oil filtering equipment

Bien que le matériel de surveillance des rejets puisse être efficace avec un mélange unique d’eau de cale polluées, il peut ne pas surveiller correctement des mélanges d’eaux de cale provenant de la tranche des machines.
