Bio
Dear potential client:
My name is Francesca Calvo di
Marco, and I would like to tell you a bit about myself in order to help you
make the right vendor choice.
Since early childhood, I have
been skilled at languages (apart from Spanish and English, I speak French and
German). I started learning English at the age of 5, at bilingual school San
Bartolomé, in my home town of Rosario, Province of Santa Fe, Argentine
Republic. From that point on, English became second nature to me: at 15, 16 and
17 respectively, I got an A in the three most traditional examinations by the
University of Cambridge: First Certificate, Certificate of Advanced English and
Proficiency.
Because of my love for the
language, I entered the Translator Training College in 2002, graduating in 2004.
I obtained my Simultaneous Interpreter Diploma in 2005, a Postgraduate Certificate
in Translation Skills (for translation into English) in 2009, a Bachelor´s
Degree in English Language and Literature in 2010, and a Court Expert
Certificate in 2014.
For the past 15 years, I have
been working in different fields, ranging from education to health and safety,
both as a translator and an interpreter. I am furthermore a licensed member of
the Association of Translators of the Province of Santa Fe, 2nd
District, which means I am authorized to do legal translations into English and
Spanish, my seal and signature attesting to the accurate nature of my
renderings. I believe my biggest strength is my extremely high level of knowledge
of both English and Spanish equally, with everything that this entails: the
cultures behind the different varieties, idioms, references to food, TV shows,
songs, newspapers, consumer products, etc.
So, if you need a reliable linguist
that looks after meaning as much as form in every single job she delivers, I can
honestly say you have found her in me. I always welcome any questions,
quotation requests and comments you may have, and hope I may be of service to
you in the near future.
Please do not hesitate to contact
me through ProZ, LinkedIn, or at [email protected].
Best regards,
