I am a freelance English-Polish translator with over 12 years of experience in software and website localization, translating software and hardware documentation, reviewing, testing and quality assurance. Since I left my university position in 2003 I have worked exclusively as a freelancer, and have participated as a translator and reviewer in a large number of IT and telecommunications projects.

Unlike some technical translators, I am a trained linguist with an ear for style and excellent editing and proofreading skills, and can be trusted to deliver fluent, idiomatic, and linguistically correct translation. Unlike many translators educated primarily in linguistics, I am a self-taught programmer and take great interest in IT technologies, which guarantees that my translation is always technically accurate. Having worked at all levels of the localization process, I have a thorough understanding of the linguistic as well as technical aspects of localization. I have trained, tested and evaluated translators, participated in recruitment and helped localization vendors win valuable contracts by providing translation samples.

I have published several successful freeware and open-source applications for Windows (www.tranglos.com). I am well-versed in IT and Internet culture and jargon, and take particular interest in Web 2.0 technologies, security technologies, encryption, databases and telecommunications.

I work from home and can be called at any time that is convenient to you. Since I enjoy traveling, I am also available for short- or long-term on-site work outside of Poland.
