Bio

Marie Winnick earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago in 2006.

Since 2020, Ms. Winnick has produced many hours spectacular subtitles and
dubbing scripts for many major television networks and streaming services, as
well as respected independent video production companies. She has translated
the words of Vittorio DeSica, Cesare Zavattini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Ferzan
Ozpetek, Gianni Romoli, and Carlos Sedes, only to name a few. Translating a
movie for Alonso Ruizpalacios, Tatiana Huezo, or Paolo Sorrentino would make
her life complete. If you have a project that means everything to you, you can
be assured that she will treat it with all the love that it needs.

In the past decade, she has also translated nearly 100
articles, including dozens of headline articles, for the news op-ed aggregator Watching
America. These articles were written by prestigious journalists and had been
originally published in newspapers such as El Espectador, La Jornada,
El País, and Il Giornale. For archived work samples, you may

You may contact Ms. Winnick directly for recent work
samples or professional references.

Ms. Winnick started doing Spanish > English police
transcriptions after being approached in 2018 by an agency project manager with
a need for it. She currently transcribes for a major U.S. metropolitan police
department, as well as a busy state police department. She has done stellar
work on all types of audio from pretext phone calls to officer body-cam
recordings. Justice in the U.S. Latino community has always been very important
to her, so she has spent time building long-term relationships with a
transcription team of skilled native speakers from all over Latin America,
mainly Mexico. She is a perfectionist, and she only wants to work with
perfectionists.

Marie has been a proud member of the American Translators Association since 2012 and
is currently the Professional Development Coordinator for the ATA's Audiovisual
Division.
