I have worked as a translator and interpreter from English into Polish and vice versa since 1985. At that time, my program was considered the best English language university program in Poland. My year was the first one in the history of the program to go through formal interpreting and translation seminars. In 1988, I left for the United States. In the following years, I graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a Juris Doctor degree, worked in non-translation jobs for law firms, consulting companies, focused on corporate finance and private equity. However, I continued working on translating assignments, and when conditions allowed, did interpreting jobs, from simultaneous interpreting at the World Bank and the IMF to interpreting for President Clinton. I moved back to Poland in 1995, became professionally involved in financial services, and worked in Warsaw, Vienna and London. I returned to full-time translation and interpreting in 2009.
I specialize in technical translations, including law (contracts, intellectual property (incl. patents)), banking and asset management, medical and life sciences, IT, environmental sciences and ecology, energy, mining, real estate (including construction and infrastructure), social sciences, engineering, and defense. I provide voiceover and transcription services, as well proofreading, QC, localization, and general editing.
