I am a graduate of the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.
Most recently I worked for Telelanguage Inc. in Portland, Oregon as an independent on-site interpreter in Spanish-English. I worked primarily in medical settings but also in some social work, police, and other occasional situations. I worked from February 2012 to April 2013 before moving back to Idaho.
I studied Spanish in Quito, Ecuador and maintain relationships with friends and host family there.
During my final year at the University of Idaho I received a student grant to present a paper of mine in Spanish at the Fifth International Forum of Literature and Linguistics Students (Quinto Foro Internacional de Estudiantes de Lingüística y Literatura) in Hermosillo, Mexico. I also tutored underclassmen in Spanish after returning from Ecuador.
I studied French as a third language and after graduating I spent a year as part of the Teaching Assistant Program in France. I taught at the Lycée Jean de la Fontaine in Château-Thierry, France. (http://www.frenchculture.org/assistantshipprogram)
My personal interests include cycling and playing guitar in punk and metal bands.
