I have both academic and practical experience with the Thai language. I was a full-time volunteer in Thailand in 2009-2010, where I learned to speak, read, and write Thai. I was awarded the Foreign Language and Area Studies Scholarship from the U.S. Department of Education to study Thai at the university level during the 2011-2012 school year. I completed two advanced courses in Thai at Brigham Young University, where I also earned a degree in International Relations with an emphasis in Asian Politics. In 2012, I conducted research in Thailand, interviewing Thais about social and business related topics, and then translated these interviews. In 2012 I also began accepting freelance Thai-English translation work. I offer competitive rates because I am in interested in expanding my translation experience.
