I have a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in Comparative Literature, and taught from 2004 to 2009 at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. I have published several translations from Italian and French: Who Loves You Like This, a memoir of the Shoah by Edith Bruck; a late nineteenth century novella, "Checchina's Virtue," by Matilde Serao, and Theories of Cinema: 1945-1990 by Francesco Casetti. My book, Italian Dreams: Neorealism and Deleuze, was published in 2009. Since leaving Ankara for the Gulf of Edremit, I have kept myself occupied with kayak building, beekeeping, woodworking, and proofreading. I have edited hundred of texts translated from Turkish for publication by ORSAM, Eurasia Critic, and others.
