Source text - Greek Προτάσεις για έξοδο των Πανεπιστημίων από την Οικονομική κρίση
Τα ανώτατα εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα στην χώρα μας αποτελούν τους θεματοφύλακες της πνευματικής μας κληρονομιάς.
Ως στόχος θα πρέπει να τεθεί η ενίσχυση του ρόλου και η συμβολή των ανώτατων εκπαιδευτικών ιδρυμάτων στις σημερινές δύσκολες για τη χώρα συνθήκες.
Προκειμένου να επιτευχθεί ο στόχος αυτός είναι απαραίτητο να τεθούν σαφείς κατευθύνσεις όπως:
- Αναγνώριση της στενής σύνδεσης μεταξύ εκπαίδευσης, έρευνας και καινοτομίας η οποία αποτελεί βασική προϋπόθεση για τη βελτίωση της ανταγωνιστικότητας της οικονομίας.
- Παροχή δυνατότητας δια βίου μάθησης σε ενήλικες ώστε να επεκταθεί ο ρόλος του πανεπιστημίου στην κοινωνία.
- Ενίσχυση της ισότητας των φύλων στην απασχόληση.
- Ενίσχυση της κινητικότητας των φοιτητών και του ερευνητικού και εκπαιδευτικού προσωπικού των πανεπιστημίων.
- Αναγνώριση της διασφάλισης ποιότητας σε ότι αφορά το εκπαιδευτικό και ερευνητικό έργο των πανεπιστημίων.
Προτάσεις για την επιτυχία των κατευθύνσεων.
- Αξιολόγηση και παροχή κινήτρων (χορήγηση υποτροφιών Αριστείας)
- Διεθνοποίηση των πανεπιστημίων ( δημιουργία ξενόγλωσσων προγραμμάτων σπουδών, συνεργασία με πανεπιστήμια του εξωτερικού, κινητικότητα φοιτητών)
- Συμμετοχή των πανεπιστημίων στην ελληνική κοινωνία (σύνδεση με ιδιωτικό τομέα, προώθηση επιχειρηματικότητας, δημιουργία νέων θέσεων εργασίας με την υποστήριξη της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας)
Περίπτωση Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης
Το Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης, ως το μεγαλύτερο ελληνικό πανεπιστήμιο της χώρας, του οποίου είμαι μέλος, αντιμετωπίζοντας την παγκόσμια οικονομική κρίση η οποία κατ΄ επέκταση είχε επιπτώσεις και στη χώρα μας στο πλαίσιο της εξεύρεσης οικονομικών πόρων και του εξορθολογισμού των δαπανών, κινήθηκε άμεσα θέτοντας τους παρακάτω στρατηγικούς άξονες δράσης με συγκεκριμένα προγράμματα υιοθετώντας με αυτό τον τρόπο μία σειρά μέτρων με στόχο την αύξηση των εσόδων και τη καλύτερη διαχείριση των οικονομικών πόρων.

στο Σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση έργων και δράσεων»

Translation - English Proposals for Universities to get out of the Economic Crisis
Higher education institutions of our country constitute the guardians of our spiritual heritage.
A target has to be set to boost the role of higher education institutions and their contribution in these difficult conditions for the country.
In order to achieve this target, clear guidelines should be established:
- Identifying the close connection among education, research and innovation that constitutes a key prerequisite to improving competitiveness of the economy.
- Offering the potential of life-long learning to adults so that universities’ role extends to the society.
- Boosting equality of sexes in employment.
- Boosting mobility of students and of research and education staff of universities.
- Identifying quality assurance in education and research work of universities.
Proposals for successful guidelines.
- Evaluation and aid to education (providing excellence scholarships)
- Internationalization of universities (creating foreign language programs of study, cooperating with foreign universities, student mobility)
- Participation of universities in Greek society (connection to the private sector, entrepreneurship development, creating new jobs with the support of the academic community)
The case of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh)
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki that is the largest Greek university of the country and of which I am a member, dealing with the global economic crisis with following consequences for our country in the context of finding economic resources and rationalizing its expenses, reacted directly by setting the below strategic pivots of action, with specific programs. It adopted this way a series of measures targeting increase of revenues and better management of economic resources.
