I am a hyperpolyglot self-employed as a translator and writer. Before making the transition in 2012 to working as a full-time translator, I was previously employed as a Project Manager for a Houston-based translation agency while also doing various translation assignments on a part-time basis. This experience perfected my project and time management skills, as well as improving my general familiarity with the translation process and industry.

I have spent over a decade honing my linguistic skills through a combination of travel, university training (including the study of International Business), and autodidactic linguistic acquisition. I am therefore able to work with an equal degree of proficiency from the following languages into English (my native language):

• Spanish
• Portuguese
• Italian
• French
• Catalan

Over the last few years I have continuously striven to specialize and grow within my profession, taking every opportunity to learn from client feedback and hands-on experience. My main areas of focus are legal and business translations, including contracts, certificates, company reports, meeting Minutes, and the like. I have also handled a considerable volume of assignments in other areas, including:

• Marketing
• Medical
• Energy
• Culinary
• Journalism
• Technical

My daily capacity depends on the complexity and format of the file(s) in question, though I can usually handle a daily output of 3,000-5,000 words per day. My standard rate is $0.06/€0.06/£0.05 per word, with a minimum charge of $10/€10/£10 for assignments under 200 words. Additionally, I am very comfortable with Trados Studio 2014and have also worked with a number of other common and proprietary CAT tools.

Please feel free to contact me for a quote or for additional information about my services. I would also be happy to complete one or more test translations free of charge if appropriate.

I look forward to working with you soon!

"In a world of machine translations and less than qualified translators, it can be hard to find quality and reliability. Fortunately, Robert Long offers both in not one, but five crucial languages. His attention to detail and commitment to quality are evident no matter the size or complexity of the translation. Not only is he fast, but his translations are solid. For quality and convenience on an affordable budget, Robert long is the way to go!"
