Das Forschungsgebiet der Molekularbiologie überlappt dabei immer mehr mit weiteren Feldern der Biologie und Chemie, insbesondere der (molekularen) Genetik und der Biochemie. Die Grenzen zwischen diesen Fachbereichen sind dabei oft fließend. Der Name für dieses Fach wurde bereits in den 1930er Jahren verwendet, jedoch erst 1952 durch den englischen Physiker und Molekularbiologen William Astbury entscheidend geprägt.	Translation - English Molecular biology is the study of the structure and function of biological macromolecules. It thus deals with the structure, biosynthesis and function of DNA and RNA on a molecular level and investigates how DNA and RNA interact with each other and with proteins. The research field of molecular biology overlaps more and more with additional fields that are part of biology and chemistry, especially (molecular) genetics and biochemistry. The boundaries between these subjects are often fluid. Bio

I am half German, grew up bilingual in German and English, and am certified for German to English translation by the American Translators Association. In addition, I have 30 years of experience in German to English translation. I lived in Germany from 1982 until 1994 and studied English literature, linguistics, philosophy, botany and zoology at Goethe University, Frankfurt / Main.

My translation specialty fields are: biology, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, neuroscience, bioinformatics, computer science, literature, tourism, cultural anthropology, sociology, linguistics, discourse analysis and philosophy.

In addition, I have an MA in molecular biology and a Professional Science Master's degree in bioinformatics. I also have a BS in biology.

I am passionate about translation and writing. In fact, I have published a science fiction short story in English and am thus a writer in my own right.

Note that the American Translators Association (ATA) sent me a letter praising my performance on the certification exam for German to English translation.
