I am an American citizen and native English speaker, responsive across most timezones. My main locations throughout the year are San Francisco, Seoul, Barcelona, and Hong Kong.
I work full-time as a freelance translator (Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Chinese > English, English > Spanish) based in Asia. I am certified in Spanish and French > English translation and have translated and interpreted for the United Nations, the European Council, and many multinational businesses, law firms, and NGO's. PLEASE INQUIRE FOR VOICE SAMPLES.
I am also the founder and director of Meridian Linguistics Ltd, a translation team offering high quality business and legal translations in various languages. As I move between South Korea and Hong Kong we have a special emphasis on providing high-volume, rush Korean <> English and Chinese <> English translations.
Meridian's linguists are reliable and experienced with specialized texts, and all translations go through a rigorous quality assurance process (native speakers are always the final eye). Over the last ten years I have worked as a Quality Assurance specialist, project manager, sales manager, and finally a translator, and my experiences from all angles of the translation process has given me the unique ability both to identify client needs and recruit quality translators willing to go the extra mile.
Educational Background: I graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Linguistics and Psychology and then received a translation certificate from the accredited program at NYU SCPS (Spanish > English, French > English) with a specialization in commercial and legal documents. I also worked as a graduate researcher at New York University in the field of Cognitive Science, where I became very familiar with the language of clinical trials and academia. Over the last ten years, I have lived and worked in the US, Nicaragua, Spain, China, and Korea.
Prior to working as a freelance translator, I was a Project Manager at Geotext Translations, an agency specializing in legal translations. At Geotext I proofread thousands of legal documents (which further honed my legal translation abilities) and managed hundreds of high-profile projects involving international teamwork and tight deadlines.
