Translating from German > English since December 1995, I have specialised in legal documents, especially those relating to alleged illegal immigration, child custody and tax fraud cases within the European Union. These documents have been witness statements, court judgements and appeals as well as supporting evidence, e.g. responses from haulage contractors, reports from child care specialists and statements from fraud suspects. This is highly responsible work but also enjoyable: every case tells a story and my job is to tell it as clearly and accurately as possible!
A special interest of mine is in travel and tourism and I have translated, for publication, travel guidebooks, such as 'Valleys, Villages and Vineyards of the Mosel'.
I have been a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreters since April 2002 and the Yorkshire network group of Linguists since April 2003.
