I have been working as a freelancer since 2012, after two years of occasional practice in a translation agency and as an assistant of conference interpreters.
As a translator, so far, I have worked mainly with certificates, legal and fiscal documents and academic journal articles about education; I have also worked as a translator and localizer of IT texts, especially hardware and software user’s manuals and online support pages. Therefore, I am familiar with CAT tools (such as SDL Trados and Multiterm, Wordfast, Idiom Workbench, Xbench), translation memories and terminology databases.
As an interpreter, I have worked for institutions such as: the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See, the Italian Army Command, the International Catholic Rural Association, the Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce, RAI (Italian broadcasting corporation), Telecom Italia (Italian telecommunication corporation), the World Family of Radio Maria, the Instituto Cervantes.
I was a trainee at the Translation Service – Italian Language Unit of the Council of the European Union from October 2015 to February 2016. My main task was translating internal documents of the Council from English into Italian, using SDL Trados Studio 2014. I also worked on terminology projects, i.e. creating new records on the European Union terminology database IATE or updating the existing ones.
Finally, I worked as a university lecturer in Translation from Spanish into Italian for two years; I also held some Interpreting and Commercial Spanish lectures and was the supervisor for a thesis.
I have a BA and a MA in Interpretation and Translation, both obtained in Italy, with English and Spanish as foreign languages. I am currently improving my French in order to reach a working level.
