Source text - Russian Буддийский монастырь Фаязтепа (регион Термеза, республика Узбекистан, в древности часть историко-культурной области Бактрия-Тохаристан ) исследованный первоначально археологом Л. И. Альбаумом в 1968 по 1976 гг. является важным памятником времени проникновения и распространения буддизма на юг Средней Азии. После смерти Л. И. Альбауьма, как Вам известно результаты археологических исследований оставались неопубликованными в виде отдельной монографии. В течении с 2004 по 2006гг. в связи с консервации и реставрации Фаязтепа осуществленных совместно по проекту Министерство по делам культуры и спорта республики Узбекистан, ЮНЕСКО, Японский Траст фонд при тесном участие Термезского Государственного Университета памятник был полностью изучен.
До начало систематических раскопок на Фаязтепа с 2002 по 2003гг. поэтапно были осуществлены следующие работы;
1. Сбор и ознакомление всеми архивными материалами связанных с археологическим исследованием Фаязтепа.
2. Осмотр и тщательное изучение состояние памятника до археологических исследований, фотофиксация и снятие инструментальных планов;
3. Нумерация выявленных построек и комплексов.
4. Составление каталога находок Фаязтепа (керамика, образцы эпиграфики, монеты, предметы искусства и других вещей хранящихся в фондах института археологии (г. Самарканд), в музее истории Узбекистана ( г. Ташкент) и в музее Археологии ( г. Термез).
5. Организация встреч, непосредственно на Фаязтепа участников археологических работ, в том числе химиков-реставраторов, архитекторов и других лиц, с тем чтобы получить подробной информации о местонахождении скульптур, живописи, каменных деталей и.т.д.
6. Одновременно со специалистами на Фаязтепа были осуществлены следующие виды работ:
а). Топографическая (лазерная) съемка местности вместе с памятникам;
Инженерно-геологические исследования.
а). установления уровня грунтовых вод;
б). Степень сохранности выявленных построек и их засолении;
в). Анализ строительных материалов, в том числе пахсы и кирпича.
Таким образам, до началa повторного исследования Фаязтепа был собран определенное база данных.
В процессе раскопок тщательно фиксировались каждый отдельный слой, зольники, ямы, очаги, ниши, уровня полов, структура пахсы, ряди сырцовых кладок, слои штукатурок и соответственно связанных с ними археологические артефакты.
Обмер и снятие плана проводились с помощью лазерного теадолита, а также традиционным методом с использованием циркуля, основанной на пересечение точек.
Архитектура памятника, характер пахсы и кладок, принципы построения арочных дверных проёмов, приемы возведения ниш, сводчатых перекрытий по отдельным помещениям воспроизводились художником –архитектором, а группа архитекторов работала над аксонометрией буддийского монастыря.
В результате по этапной фиксации в пределах отдельных квадратов, и по отдельным помещениям выявлена своеобразная планировка буддийского монастыря Фаязтепа. Следует отметить до повторного исследования по Л. Л. Альбауму, Фаязтепа состояло из центрального здания и отдельно стоящей ступы. Возникновение и функционирование памятника как буддийского монастыря Л. И. Альбаум определял I-III вв. н. э. Во всех обобщающих работах посвященных буддизму Средней Азии (Б. Я. Ставиский, Т. К. Мкртычев и др.) придерживались мнению Л. И. Альбаума.
На основе выявленной планировки, данных нумизматики, эпиграфики, огромного количества разновременных керамических изделий в истории возведения и функционирования буддийского монастыря Фаязтепа можно выделить следующие основные периоды:
1. На месте сооружения крупного буддийского храма Фаязтепа существовало ранняя буддийское сооружение, воздвигнутое I в до н.э.
2. В период правления Сотер Мегас на месте Фаязтепа был основан крупный буддийский монастырь (вихара) состоящих из двух крупных частей. Северо-западная и юго –западная сторона состояла из центрального здания разделенных на три блока, а к северу и северо-востоку от центрального здания располагался огромный двор с комплексом больших и малых ступ. Центральное здание и дворовый комплекс был охвачен единой стеной, а вход к монастырю располагался в его юго-восточном углу т .е. в сторону Тармиты-Термеза.
Такая планировка памятника свидетельствует, о том что изначально с момента возникновения этот монастырь был предназначен для населений Тармиты-Термеза. Дата сооружения этого монастыря лежит пределах первой половине I в н. э. В первом периоде центральное здание имело своеобразную архитектурную планировку. Например, северная южная сторона блока состояла из длинных сводчатых коридоров, а центр недостроенного двора, а северное и южное крыло серединного блока состоял из длинных сводчатых коридоров с арочным дверным проемом. Северном отсеке также имелись огромные еще недостроенные дворы.
Следующие значительные изменения в монастыре происходили по данным нумизматики в период правления Вимы Кадфиза. (Второй период) Разделение на отдельных отсеков во всех частях центрального здания.
Период правления Канишки (третий период) происходило кардинальная перестройка во всех частях центрального здания В частности в середине западного крыла напротив ступы обособленно выделяется святилище. Стены его были украшены живописью, а на суфе была поставлена каменное скульптурное изображение Будды с монахами («Триада»)
В последующих периодах правления Кушан монеты Хувишки и др. монастырь еще продолжал функционировать.
В конце III в. н.э. монастырь был разрушен. Это скорее всего связан с Сасанидским завоеванием правобережной Бактрии – Тохаристана.
В IV в. в связи с временным освобождением от Сасанидов буддийский монастырь был заново восстановлен.
В период правления Пероза (457-484 гг.) или же скорее всего во второй половине V в. о чем свидетельствует находка подражании монетам Пероза некоторые помещения монастыря начали использоваться как место захоронения.
В последующие века ступа и некоторые части центрального здания существует как буддийский комплекс. Как свидетельствует археологический материал во времена посещения буддийского монаха Сюань Цзяна Фаязтепа хотя еще в незначительном масштабе, но существовал как буддийский монастырь.
Translation - English Buddhist monastery Fayaztepa (region of Termez, republic of Uzbekistan, in an antiquity a part of historical and cultural area of Bactria-Tokharistan) originally was investigated by archeologist L.I.Albaum in 1968 for 1976 is the important monument of time of penetration and spreading of the Buddhism on the south of Central Asia. After L.I. Albaum's death, as you know results of archeological researches remained not published in the form of the separate monograph. During 2004-2006, in connection with preservation and restoration Fayaztepa, carried out in common under the project the Ministry on affairs of culture and sports of republic Uzbekistan, UNESCO, the Japanese Trust fund at close participation of Termez State University the monument has been completely investigated.
Up to the beginning regular investigation of Fayaztepa, from 2002 till 2003 following works have been stage by stage carried out;
1. Gathering and acquaintance by all archival materials, connected with archeological research of Fayaztepa.
2. Survey and careful studying a condition of a monument before archeological researches, photo fixing and removal of tool plans;
3. Numbering the revealed constructions and complexes.
4. Drawing up of the catalogue of Fayaztepa’s finds (ceramics, samples of epigraphy, coins, subjects of art and other things are kept in funds of institute of archeology (Samarkand), in a museum of history of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) and in a museum of Archeology (Termez).
5. The Organization of meetings directly on Fayaztepa participants of archeological works, including chemists-restorers, architects and other persons to receive the detailed information on a site of sculptures, painting, stone details and so on.
6. Simultaneously with experts following kinds of works have been carried out on Fayaztepa:
1 Topographical (laser) shooting of district together with monuments;
Engineering-geological researches.
2 Establishments of a level of subsoil waters;
3 A degree of safety of the revealed constructions and them salinization;
4 The analysis of building materials including of pahsa and a brick.
To Such images, up to the beginning of repeated research of Fayaztepa the certain database has been collected.
During excavation holes, the centers, niches, a level of floors, structure of pahsa, line of unbaked brick, layers of plasters and accordingly connected with them archaeological artifacts were carefully fixed each separate layer, ash bin.
Measurement and removal of the plan were spent by means of laser theodolite, and also a traditional method with use of the compasses, based on crossing of points.
The architecture of a monument, character of pahsa and laying, principles of construction of arch door apertures, receptions of erection of niches, vaulted overlap pings on separate premises generated the architect, and the group of architects worked above an axonometry of a Buddhist monastery.
As a result of steep fixings within the limits of separate squares, and on separate premises the original lay-out of Buddhist monastery Fayaztepa is revealed. It is necessary to note before repeated research of L.I. Albaum, Fayaztepa consisted of the central building and separately standing stupa. Occurrence and functioning of a monument by L.I.Albaum's Buddhist monastery defined I-III centuries A. D. In all generalizing works devoted to the Buddhism of Central Asia (B.Ya.Stavisky, T.K.Mkrtychev, etc.) adhered L.I.Albaum's to opinion.
On the basis of the revealed lay-out, data of numismatics, epigraphy, huge quantity of occurring at different time’s pottery, in history of erection and functioning of Buddhist monastery Fayaztepa is possible to allocate the following basic periods:
1. On a place of a construction of large Buddhist temple Fayaztepa, there was early a Buddhist construction, erected in I century B.C.
2. During board of Soter Megas on place of Fayaztepa, the large Buddhist monastery (Vihara), consisting of two large parts has been based. Northwest and south-western side consisted of the central building, divided on three blocks, and to the north and northeast from the central building the huge court yard with a complex of big and small stup settled down. The central building and a domestic complex has been captured by a uniform wall, and the entrance to a monastery settled down in its southeast corner that is. To the side of Tarmit-Termez.
Such lay-out of a monument testifies, about that from the primary moment of occurrence this monastery has been intended for population of Tarmit-Termez. Date of a construction of this monastery lays limits first half of I century A.D. In the first period the central building had an original architectural lay-out. For example, northern southern side of the block consisted of long vaulted corridors, and the center of not completed court yard, and northern and southern wing of the medial block consisted of long vaulted corridors with an arch doorway. Northern compartment also there were still not completed a huge court yard.
Following significant changes in a monastery happened according to numismatics during board of Vima Kadfiz. (The Second period) Division into separate compartments in all parts of the central building.
The period of board of Kanishka (the third period) happened cardinal reconstruction in all parts of the central building, in particular in the middle of the western wing opposite of stupa separately the sanctuary is allocated. Its walls have been decorated by painting, and on sufa ("Triad") has been put the stone sculptural image of the Buddha with monks.
In the subsequent periods of board Kushan of coin of Huvishka, etc. the monastery still continued to function.
In the end of III century A.D. the monastery has been destroyed. It most likely it is connected with Sasanid conquest of right-bank Bactria - Tokharistan.
In IV century in connection with time clearing from Sasanid, the Buddhist monastery has been restored.
During board of Peroz (457-484) or most likely in second half V century about what testifies a find imitation coins of Peroz some premises of a monastery have started to be used as a place of a burial place.
The next centuries stupa and some parts of the central building exists as a Buddhist complex. As the archeological material in days of visiting Fajaztepa by Buddhist monk Sjuan Szang, though in insignificant scale testifies, but existed as a Buddhist monastery.
