Certified by the American Translators Association for French to English translation. Master's degree in French linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Bachelor's degree in modern languages (French and Spanish) with a minor in physics from Beloit College. Studied French language, literature and civilization in Rennes, France and conducted research on Comet Hale-Bopp at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona during my bachelor's degree.
In 2012 I returned home to the U.S. after living 5 years in Belgium, where I perfected my language skills in French and Dutch (and its variant, Flemish). There, I worked as an in-house translator at one of Belgium's largest insurance companies, where I translated mostly insurance, HR and business/corporate documents from French and Dutch into English and edited documents written in English by non-native speakers. I was also a project manager, editor and translator at a Belgian translation agency for 2 1/2 years.
I provide accurate, well-researched translations that read in natural, idiomatic English. I use a computer-assisted translation tool (Wordfast Pro, MemoQ) when a job so requires.
I look forward to hearing from clients interested in accurate, quality translation and editing work.
