I am a native French speaker with a Master's Degree in Advanced Interpreting and Translation Studies. My mother tongue is French (A) and my second language is English (B).
I have spent 4 years in Brussels where I was teaching French to the European Institutions' personnel and contractors.
As an Interpreter (Fr<>En) I also work freelance with the Institutions through LSPs based in Brussels. I also work in Luxembourg, Paris and Geneva. I am an AIIC pre-candidate.
As a Translator (En>Fr) I work for UK businesses in the heavy industry sector and maintain an excellent and long lasting rapport with my direct clients. I also accept agency work (translation, proofreading, editing). On 20th May 2015 I was accepted on the MoJ Translation Panel. I am Disclosure and Barring Checked.
Some of my voluntary work with the Citizens Advice Bureau together with translation/interpreting for the Home Office and Police Forces have steered me towards legal interpreting and translation, consequently I took 3 modules with Cambridge University, working towards a paralegal qualification.
I attend regularly CPD events organised by the professional organisations I am affiliated to. The latest being on language recognition software, a tool I fancy using for optimizing my output in legal translation and interpreting. |
