Private background:
I immigrated to the US from Germany in 2010, currently am a legal resident alien with a pending application for the US citizenship (will be completed February 2015).
My husband is a British citizen, so I communicate in English most of the time, at home and at work. But I still have strong ties to Germany, talk to my family as often as I can, and fly over once a year to visit family and friends.
Work experience in the US:
After a 5 month assignment with Google in 2013, where I worked in the Google Translate project as data evaluator, translator and annotator of linguistic data, I am now translating and localizing texts for E2F Translations, Inc., specializing in website translations, apps, games, and marketing texts. I am always happy about different challenges, and will translate any text from English to German or vice versa. I also do reviews, proofreading, voice over, and quality testing (Jawbone UP and Motorola).
In 2011 I spent a month with Lingo Jingo, Inc., where I also did translation work, and created sound files in German. You can hear my voice on their website.
I am looking forward to increase my translation experience with ProZ, and receive temporary or longterm assignments for translation work. |
