English to Portuguese: COPING EFFECTIVENESS TRAINING General field: Medical Detailed field: Psychology
Source text - English What makes something stressful for one person and not another?
The amount of stress each person experiences depends on his or
her understanding of the situation. Stress results from your belief
that an event is dangerous, difficult or painful, and that you
can’t (or may not be able to) cope with it. Different things are
stressful for different people largely because the meaning of the
event differs between people, and because people have different
resources available for coping with stress.
