I have been freelancing as a translator ever since I left a PhD programme in English linguistics at University of Stockholm in 1996. I have a BA in Modern Languages, including courses in political science and linguistics, from University of Stockholm with an additional year of full-time studies in English and German at King’s College, London.
My academic focus has largely been on sociolinguistics, i.e. language as a social phenomenon, its dependence on ethnic, socioeconomic and other factors, and psycholinguistics, that is, the structures and processes that form the basis for our ability to learn, speak and understand languages.
I translate, edit and proofread in both English and Swedish and have regularly been trusted by demanding clients to translate in both directions of my language pair. Over the years I have carried out assignments in a number of different industries and in a variety of operations. Some examples of clients are; Ericsson, Shell Oil, SIDA (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency), Government Offices, LKAB, the Swedish Armed Forces and American Field Services (AFS), along with assignments for a number of SME companies. I am a member of The Swedish Association of Professional Translators (SFÖ).
From national defense headquarters to IT start-ups, I have always enjoyed working with my clients to develop texts that fully convey the intended message in a professional and stylistic manner.
