Languages can be compared to living entities. They can die without leaving any trace of their existence (like many native languages that have no written form); they can disappear leaving literary records behind (Latin) and in this case they are called dead languages, they are no longer spoken but there is plenty of information about them.
The existence of those texts allows us to follow languages over the centuries. For instance Old and Middle English can no longer be understood by modern English speakers but scholars can do it to study the evolution of the language. The scientific discipline that deals with the changes undergone by languages over the years is called Diachronic Linguistics.
1 Sounds.
1.1 Introduction.
Phonological changes can be divided into two types:
Regular: they occur as a result of the natural tendencies or rules of a language. Some scholars believe that there are no rules in languages but tendencies. The chances of a change to develop are subjected to probabilism.
Irregular: they occur at a specific moment and cannot be predicted.

Las lenguas pueden compararse con entidades vivas. Pueden morir sin dejar ningún rastro de su existencia (como muchas lenguas nativas que no tienen forma escrita); pueden desaparecer dejando atrás registros literarios (latín) y en este caso se llaman lenguas muertas, ya no se hablan pero hay abundante información sobre ellas.
La existencia de esos textos nos permite seguir las lenguas a lo largo de los siglos. Por ejemplo el inglés antiguo y el inglés medio ya no pueden ser comprendidos por los hablantes del inglés moderno, pero los investigadores pueden hacerlo para estudiar la evolución de la lengua. La disciplina científica que se ocupa de los cambios experimentados por los idiomas a lo largo de los años se llama Lingüística Diacrónica.

1.1 Introducción.
Los cambios fonológicos se pueden dividir en dos tipos:
Regulares: se producen como resultado de las tendencias naturales o reglas de una lengua. Algunos investigadores creen que no hay reglas en las lenguas sino tendencias. Las posibilidades de que un cambio se desarrolle están sujetas al probabilismo.
Irregulares: se producen en un momento específico y no se pueden predecir.

I am a Spanish, Arabic and French native speaker. I have a degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Tetouan and a Teaching Training Program certificate.
I have been teaching Spanish in different high schools for 13 years and I have a broad experience translating different types of documents.
I work together with my sister who is also Spanish, Arabic and French native speaker and has a degree in English Language and Literature from the Open University of Malaga, the CPE from The American Language Center in Tangier and a degree in Business Administration from the University of Jaen. She is presently studying a Master's in International Cooperation and Development.
She has been working for the last 10 years as the head of the Interpreting and Translating Service of the hospital Carlos de Haya in Malaga.
