About me
If one asked me to describe myself with one word only, it would be "enthusiastic". If an activity arouses my interest, I stay restless and grab at every opportunity to do it until the very moment I'm through with it.
My multifaceted nature keeps me busy all the time. I either dance, or read, or solve brain-teasers, or do the rock climbing, or go in for horse riding. These leisure activities coupled with my pedagogical education make me a comprehensive personality. But one interest that provides perfect complement to myself is translation and interpreting.
Translation and interpreting (TI) became my passion last year when I started a new job. I derive so much pleasure from doing them both. I guess I'm lucky to have found an activity that I would like to do all my life.
Actually, I can find traces of all my interests in TI.
Dancing is moving, changing positions and interacting with a partner; TI is changing, or replacing one variant with another and "interacting" with words.
Reading either a book for fun or an Engish text for translation is equally good.
Solving brain-teasers? Well, I'm sometimes at my wit's end over abbreviations.
Rock climbing presupposes a lot of physical work and self-confidence; TI presupposes mental work and self-control.
Horse riding gives an invaluable feeling of freedom; TI is freedom to choose who to work with and when.
All in all, everything I do helps me achieve the main goal - self-development; TI helps me to achieve it faster.
