Les laboratoires de l’ITERG sont les seuls laboratoires français inscrits sur la liste des laboratoires reconnus au niveau européen par le SCoPAFF (Comité permanent des végétaux, des animaux, des denrées alimentaires et des aliments pour animaux) pour l’analyse des hydrocarbures aromatiques d’huiles minérales (MOAH) dans les denrées alimentaires.
L’accréditation COFRAC de notre méthode de dosage des MOSH-MOAH (hydrocarbures saturés et aromatiques d’huiles minérales) avec des seuils de quantification très bas (1 mg/kg pour les huiles) illustre l’excellence de nos laboratoires. Elle démontre aussi notre capacité à répondre aux besoins en développant une méthode garantissant des résultats d’analyse précis et fiables.

Les substances per- et polyfluoroalkylées (PFAS) constituent une préoccupation majeure du fait de leurs effets potentiels sur la santé. En 2024, l’ITERG a lancé un projet visant à développer une méthode analytique de quantification de 12 PFAS dans les huiles et produits dérivés des oléagineux, avec une première phase – plus longue que prévu – consacrée à la « décontamination » du système analytique. Ce projet contribuera à améliorer la surveillance sanitaire et la sécurité des huiles végétales, et à anticiper les évolutions réglementaires.

Depuis que l’homme est entré dans l’ère de la compétition, sport et superstition ont toujours fait bon ménage. Mais pourquoi, et à quel point, les athlètes sont-ils accros aux rituels porte-bonheur ? Petit voyage au pays des gri-gri et des caleçons fétiches.
Il y a ceux qui garderaient le même slip jusque sur leur lit de mort. Celles qui préfèreraient se couper la jambe plutôt que d’enfiler leurs chaussures dans le mauvais ordre. Il y a les porteurs d’amulettes, les angoissés de la chaussette, les fétichistes du bleu et les idolâtres du chiffre 8.
Toutes les personnes qui s’intéressent de près ou de loin au sport de haut niveau ont déjà assisté aux petits rituels auxquels les membres de l’élite de la transpiration s’adonnent pour s’attirer les faveurs de la bonne fortune. Et force est de constater qu’à ce petit jeu-là, certains font fort. Très fort.

Gustave Eiffel s’était effectivement aménagé un petit appartement au sommet de la Tour, sur la plateforme supérieure du dernier étage. Le public ne pouvait accéder qu’au niveau inférieur de cet étage.
D’une superficie de 100m2, ce "logement" faisait office de bureau, de laboratoire d’expériences et de lieu convivial de réception des invités de marque de Monsieur Eiffel.
Pavillon le Figaro à la tour Eiffel
Une rédaction de journal au 2ème étage
Le quotidien Le Figaro avait élu domicile au 2ème étage de la Dame de Fer pour y exposer son savoir-faire pendant les 6 mois de l’Exposition Universelle de 1889. Le pavillon du Figaro abritait une petite rédaction et une rotative d’imprimerie. Les faits et gestes des 24 employés (journalistes, correcteurs, techniciens d’imprimerie) pouvaient être observés par l’ensemble des visiteurs grâce à des baies vitrées.
Un journal était édité quasi quotidiennement et relatait des informations consacrées à l’Exposition universelle et à la tour Eiffel.
Le bureau de poste du 1er étage
Un bureau de poste de la tour Eiffel était situé au premier étage de la tour Eiffel, à 57 mètres d’altitude. Fonctionnel comme un bureau de poste standard (services postaux et bancaires), il était considéré comme le plus petit et le plus beau des bureaux de poste parisiens !
Très apprécié des amateurs de philatélie, il permettait notamment de faire estampiller son envoi avec des timbres de collection et le fameux cachet à date illustré de la tour Eiffel. L’histoire d’amour entre la tour Eiffel et les philatélistes remonte à l’Exposition universelle de 1889.
C’est depuis la tour Eiffel que la carte postale illustrée a fait ses débuts en France !
Des boîtes aux lettres étaient disposées à chaque étage afin que les visiteurs puissent y poster leurs cartes postales dûment oblitérées de cachets privés attestant de leur passage à chaque niveau de la Tour.
La station de radio de la tour Eiffel
Symbole important pour la Dame de Fer, la radio n’est autre que sa sauveuse !
Alors conçue pour n’exister que 20 ans, la tour Eiffel a perduré grâce à Gustave Eiffel qui lui trouva une vocation de laboratoire d’expériences scientifiques, notamment dans le domaine de la télégraphie sans fil. Il y accueille le Général Ferrié et le scientifique Eugène Ducretet pour les premières expériences dans ce domaine.
En 1898, Eugène Ducretet parvient à établir la première liaison radio (en morse) entre la Tour et le Panthéon.
Après la Grande Guerre, la Tour donnera jour à la première station de radio en France, "Radio Tour Eiffel" en 1921 qui était située dans le pilier nord. Elle diffusera jusqu’en 1940 des émissions quotidiennes, d’abord brèves, puis les programmes s’étofferont au fil du temps : bulletins météo, cours de la Bourse de Paris, émissions musicales, et même diffusion en direct de concerts.

Gustave Eiffel actually set up a small apartment at the Tower’s summit, on the upper platform of the top floor. The public only had access to the lower level.
Covering an area of 100 m2 (1,076 sq ft), this “accommodation” was used as an office, a laboratory for experiments, and a convivial place for Mr. Eiffel to receive distinguished guests.
Figaro Pavilion at the Eiffel Tower
A newsroom on the 2nd floor
The newspaper Le Figaro took up residence on the Tower’s 2nd floor for six months to display its craft during the 1889 World’s Fair. The Figaro pavilion housed a small editorial office and a printing press.
Visitors could watch the 24 employees (journalists, proofreaders, printing technicians) at work through bay windows.
A newspaper was edited almost daily and reported news about the World’s Fair and the Eiffel Tower.
The 1st-floor post office
For a time, there was a post office located on the 1st floor of the Eiffel Tower, at an altitude of 57 meters (187 feet). Operating just like a regular post office (postal and banking services), it was considered the smallest and most beautiful of all Parisian post offices!
It was highly prized by stamp collectors because mail could be posted from there with collector’s stamps and received the famous illustrated Eiffel Tower postmark. The love story between the Eiffel Tower and stamp collectors dates back to the 1889 World’s Fair.
It’s at the Eiffel Tower that illustrated postcards made their first appearance in France!
Mailboxes were available on each floor so that visitors could send their postcards, duly stamped with private postmarks, attesting to their passage through each level of the Tower.
The Eiffel Tower radio station
An important symbol for the Iron Lady, radio actually turned out to be her savior!
The Eiffel Tower was erected for only 20 years, but it survived thanks to Gustave Eiffel who turned it into a laboratory for scientific experiments, particularly in the field of wireless telegraphy. He invited General Ferrié and the scientist Eugène Ducretet to conduct the first experiments there.
In 1898, Ducretet successfully established the first radio link (in Morse code) between the Tower and the Pantheon.
After the First World War, the Tower was home to the first radio station in France, “Radio Tour Eiffel”, launched in 1921 and located in the North pillar. Until 1940, it broadcast daily programs, at first short but growing longer as time went by. These ranged from weather reports to Paris stock market prices, music programs, and even live concerts.
