About me
I am translator since 1999. To be a translator is amazing as well as enlightening. It is a lonely profession, but I enjoy translating in the company of my cats and listening to music.
Work experience
In the beginning of my experience as a translator, I used to work at a translation company, where I developed my skills in medical area. At that time, I translated clinical trial protocols, investigator manual for clinical research, informed consent form, standard operating procedure (SOP), and package leaflet for enterprises such as Pfizer, Allergan, and GlaxoSmithKline.
Then, I decided to work at home, but still working for translation companies, which introduced me to other segments of medical area: operating manuals of medical devices (GE Kaye and West Coast Medical Equipment Services), and patents.
Also, during some time I joined a translator cooperative taking part of several task forces again in medical area. Here, the majority of jobs included scientific papers, marketing of clinical research, medical education, and medical products (Novartis, Boston Scientific, and Biomarin Pharmaceutical).
However, my former profession was chemical engineer. I had 15 years of chemical engineering experience working for a multinational enterprise (Rhodia SA) and for a Brazilian Project Company. |
