I am a native English speaker, born and raised in the US. I began my university studies at the University of Minnesota and then moved to England to continue my studies at the University of Birmingham. I then spent the next fifteen years in the Netherlands and Belgium before moving to Sweden with my husband in 2008. Living and working in these various countries has provided me with an excellent understanding of the differences between American and UK English as well as the differences between Dutch and Flemish, both written and spoken. I have translation experience in various areas and have done translations for, among others, the Flemish government, the Dutch Tax Administration, the European Union, Ghent University, several large banks, travel agents, as well as a number of cultural organisations. I am particularly interested in biology, psychology, culture and tourism, animals and veterinary medicine. |
